Lauren is a cinematographer focused on experimental and narrative filmmaking. Her personal work explores themes of labor and expansiveness often depicting figures as a crucial part of their surroundings. She loves how dreamy textured lighting and gritty color palettes can make an everyday encounter feel magical, encouraging viewers to lower the intensity of their gaze.

Lauren received an associate’s degree at her local community college then went on to study painting and visual art at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While at university she developed an interest in filmmaking and the performing arts, especially dance and circus acrobatics. She has performed as an ensemble aerialist in three student circus shows. She continues to shoot films, direct stills shoots and does freelance work in the commercial film industry.
