Lauren is a cinematographer and photographer focused on experimental and narrative filmmaking. She cares deeply about aesthetics and representation as they relate to our lived experience and values.
Lauren’s personal work is an ongoing exploration of diasporic matriarchal lineages, often depicting women holding each other or standing alone in center of the frame.
Dreamy textured lighting and gritty color palettes make the subjects of her photographs feel both magical and grounded, encouraging viewers to lower the intensity of their gaze.
Lauren received an associate’s degree of arts at her local community college then went on to earn bachelors degree in studio art with an emphasis on life painting and photography.
